White Lake, Michigan

Ed, Gary, and Leon made a trip up to Michigan from Pennsylvania to do some fishing.  As we took two boats out to White Lake on an overcast day to do some fishing.  White Lake is about 45 miles from Newaygo and is known as a good fishing lake for croppies, walleye, bass, and pike.  Although we saw a few bass on the shore line it was mostly suckers and catfish.  Some of the catfish were really big as show in the pictures.  We also caught sand fish which look like part bass and sucker.  Even though we did not catch anything big that is eatable (some people eat catfish) the catfish put up a really good fight. After the day of fishing we stopped at a local hot dog stand and had some dinner.

Travis and Bruce Barkalow caught their first River Catfish out of White Lake in Whitehall, Michigan. Leon, Gary, and Ed (left to right) preparing for the day of fishing ahead at White Lake. They caught several croppies which we later had for dinner.
